Spark Coders, an innovative scholarship program introduced by the Honorable Governor Navin Dissanayake, aims to transform talented Sabaragamuwa students into skilled young programmers. This revolutionary initiative is a first-of-its-kind effort in the general education sector, designed to shape young minds for success. The program offers both academic instruction and industry training, preparing participants to excel in the world of information technology.
Launching of Sparkcoders Programmes implemented by Provincial council, Provincial ministry of education, information technology & cultural affairs and Provincial department of Education - Sabaragamuwa in collaboration with Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and SLASSCOM will be held on 1st March of 2024 at Kethumathee Hotel under the distinguished patronage of Hon.Governor.Navin Dissanayake.
This Programme aims to provide the students proficient basic programming skills, the capability to design and develop web-based applications, and an understanding of networking systems. 15 Credit course with duration of 4 months. Students in Grade 10,11 and G.C.E A/L are eligible to enroll for this programme.
This Programme designed to ensure students obtain expert skills in data science, dynamic web application development, mobile application development and artificial intelligence. 30 credits programme with duration of 12 months. Students who successfully completed Certificate in fundamentals of computing are eligible to enroll for this programme.
Students will be provided industrial exposure to sharpen their employable skills. Practical boot camps, industry visits, mini internship opportunities will prepare these students to be the leaders in the industry. Career guidance and mentoring will provide additional support.
